Pirates Map Attacks

So I am a little late for talk like a pirate day, but in honor of the occasion I present the pirate-hunter’s treasure map, also known as International Maritime Bureau’s Piracy Map. The map plots the GPS coordinates of all attempted and successful pirate attacks in 2007, 2006, and 2005. Of course, not all pirate attacks are reported, but enough are to get an impression of the trouble spots: Somalia, Nigeria, and Indonesia / Malaysia.

Happy sailing!
